Official promo pictures from Bandai. To be released on August 2016. I am still not too keen of it having regular joints instead of magnets.

Not fond of it either, but at least is a Classic Super Robot being released in the SRC line. Just like with most of the other SRC releases, I'll get one to show my $upport for the Super Robot genre. }D

Yeah, but there are already a lot of good quality Jeegs out there. And Bandai showed so many classic and modern super robots for their SRC line. So why bother with this Jeeg?

It's certainly not the best Jeeg, if we're talking proportions. But it being an SRC, I think the priority for Bandai was to give this toy very good articulation. Looks and metal content followed. It doesn't look bad though, let's say it's "ok".
We all know that both the ZPRO and the CM's Jeegs are better overall, and maybe even ET's one if you don't mind collecting plastic robots. The SRC will just be a cheaper alternative, a fun little extra. A small, sturdy gokin Jeeg which has ratchets instead of magnets.
I'll buy it. Hopefully Bandai will give us more SRC classics in the future.

So why bother with this Jeeg? sadly they dance to their own tune. How I wish we had CMs back.. Yes ET is a spinoff of CMs but no die cast and no size.my main issue is CMs was putting out a die cast Godam and Acrobunch and I doubt we will ever get Acrobunch in any form besides the gashapon.

I hope that BU Toys, now owner of both Miracle Production and Mad Toys, releases Acrobunch and Dai Apolon.
Heck, even if your friend at High Dream reads these posts, he now has ideas for new products.

I hope BU go that route.. But Acrobunch is a combiner so HD would never do it I've asked about Diapolon too but again combiner.. BU seems more interested in vinyl but I hope they continue with odd choices like the 2 Getters..ET will put out a Diapolon I'm hoping at least...very very odd no one made him over the years especially Bandai as he was a classic staple of vintage GOKIN.

Don't know if this pic is new or not, but I didn't know Bandai planned to release an option parts set for their SRC Jeeg. Pantheroid, pair of Bazookas, rotating shield (a single one, perhaps?) and the spear. I'm slightly pissed only because this will be an option set, an extra, and we'll probably have to order it separately. Jeeg itself won't be cheap at all, and I don't know how much they'll ask for the set but.. undoubtedly the 2 combined will cost you like an SoC.

Don't be surprised if that Jeeg Option Set will be offered as a Tamashii Web Exclusive.

But didn't they release a Gingaizer set a couple of years ago that transformed and combined? If they are afraid of combiners, they could take the SRC route and make these robots as pure action figures. Maybe we need a third party group to make these robots then. And existing group doing Transformers could easily work on them.
