It can be done, and it's easier to print a statue than to design a posable and durable articulated figure. However, it does take some time to model a figure from pictures... if you want it to look halfway decent. 😏

Wow! So, the last update on this thread was in April 4th, 2017!!! DAMN!!! Since then, I have ammased a small army of 3D printers. Some better than others, but all functional. A lot of them I purchased second hand on eBay and respective forums, and I got them for a lot less than what they sell for. Very happy camper, yes! Here is my list in the order I got them: 1. Davinci 1.0 2. G2S Pro Delta printer 3. Makerbot Replicator 5th Gen 4. Delta Rostock with DUET board and Diamond Nozzle: A three color 3D printer! - (Still Unassembled) 5. Nobel 1.0 SLA (resin) printer 6. Nobel 1.0 SLA (resin) printer #2 7. Cube3 8. Prusa i3 Mk2 9. Cel Robox 10. Prusa i3 Mk3 11. Photon DLP (resin) printer 12. Snapmaker DLP (resin) printer 13. Trinus 14. Trinus #2 (with Laser Engraver) 15. Ultimaker 3 16. Ultimaker 3 Extended 17. Lulzbot Mini 18. Airwolf3D Axion Dual Bowden (with Direct Drive upgrade pending installation) I think I have what I need to get going now. I did a small test run a couple of days ago, running six printers at the same time to finish an articulated figure for my daughter in just a couple of hours. To be able to achieve this, I printed the different parts of the figure using the six printers at the same time. Had it only been one or two 3D printers doing it, it would've taken the whole day - if nothing went wrong. Now, I just have to gather all my files, fire these babies up, and see what happens next! }D |
