Hmmm... I don't think the Asia version will come with the Voltron plate, doesn't make sense. However, Bandai does a lot of things that don't make sense - like announcing a GX-71 before a GX-70. }D

With Bandai these days, I'll believe it when I have both plates in my hands. }D

I also just realized the mix of chrome and silver, and of gold and yellow all over. Too much to ask to choose one type of finish and stick with it through the entire figure? The more I look at the pics of the SOC one, the more I admire what MadToys did with their version...

Bandai released official pictures showing both nameplates, even Bandai mentioned on their official statement that the plates are included so the end user has the choice as to what plate to put on the weapons pedestal.
It is a lot easier to ship both plates, and put a Voltron outer box sleeve to units shipped to North America rather than picking a plate and then putting the outer sleeve. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised that Tamashii BlueFin is the one making the sleeves to put on those boxes before distributing them to North American retailers.
But everybody has their right for an opinion, so I am done with this argument...

From the Tamashii Show Room. Is it me, or does it look weird from this angle?

Looks like Toynami's version. What a waste of a perfect chance to finally make a good looking Voltron... }|

Ape arms, fullback shoulders, the leg thing ERRRR..I've heard people say oh the reason the anime has no lion legs in transformation is artist shortcuts and it should have the legs . That's not how it works, toy matches anime not anime should look like the toy.. It's not like Golion is a 60 frames a second anime..there is much more complicated 70s anime SRs drawn.

Agree 100%. I think that Bandai knows Golion is not a very famous and sought after super robot in Japan, so they didn't put in the effort to make it as anime accurate as they could've. They probably figured that a modernized version of the old Godaikin woukd be good enough. And since a lot of western buyers don't care for anime looks and prefer nostalgia looks, a slightly modernized version of the 30 year old figure if perfectly fine for them.

From the Tamashii Show Room. Is it me, or does it look weird from this angle? I prefer the prototype figure. See the differences...

More pictures from Tamashii's show room. From what I can read from Google translator, folks at Toysdaily.com are also not happy.
