What a coincidence, I was going to ask if there were any updates of Dai Apolon. And poof, you posted an update! You must be a mind reader.

LOL... I wish I was! :)I've just been trying to figure out how to do it so it is not crazy expensive (>$1.00 per magnetic sphere), or relying in glued parts too much. With the new Delta printer I can print with PETG and Nylon, which make way stronger parts than ABS or PLA. So now it is just a matter of sizing each part right. }D

Cool! Gravewolf and I were back and forth for about two years on Dai Apolon and Gekiganger. First as custom hand made figures, and then as 3D printer friendly files. Now that it seems that he passed the torch to you by having you tweak and finish the design, I tend to wonder when those figures will ever be finalized.
At least you are making more progress than some toy company that we know!
And please let me know how much will it cost to have them printed. We can discuss more via PM.

Well I guess it depends on if it is a fully finished figure or a "kit". A finished figure takes a lot more work of course. A kit is just the printed parts which still need to be cleaned, sanded, and painted. I should have a better idea once I make the first one. Since I like to keep figures in somewhat of a scale, I figured Dai Apolon will be around 27cm tall. }D

By the way, the prototype will be SRC size. It it faster to print, takes less time to clean and sand, and also uses less paint. I'm most likely not going to keep that one - because of its small size thou. However, the bigger one should have better details, since it's bigger. Anyway, once the smaller prototype is done, making the bigger one is just a matter of scaling up the components. }D

Of course, bro! }D
I truly apologize for not being faster on putting these 3D projects out. Is just that I always try my best to make things as good as they can be, and when they don't come out as such, it sets me back - and bums be out. Also, there seems to be something always working against me: either the printers are not printing properly when I really need them to, or the 3D software is not doing what I need it to do, or my wife is actively hating and complaining that I'm working in these things, or all of the above.
Hopefully I can get these projects going this time. But be aware that Murphy's Law is always lurking over me...

Thanks TMZ!
I waited 2 years, I can wait a bit more. And yes, I am interested in a fully assembled and painted figure. So I got a pretty good idea on what is involved but not limited to design, parts, labors and the trials & errors.

Well, decided to go with the larger version from the get go. I'm printing the very first part right now. Hopefully the printer will not let me down... }D

Some scary moments, but the printer came through nicely! Here is the size comparison with the SRCs: Lots of cleaning and sanding in my future... }D

This is the most beautiful piece that was ever 3D printed. It should be framed!

*sigh*
So it seems PETG can only be glued by the hand of God. This sucks, since PETG parts are so much stronger than ABS or PLA. Sooo... Back to square one. I'm gonna have to reprint the torso in one piece using ABS. Unfortunately, that means I have to modify the model quite a lot.
Damn! See what I mean about Murphy's Law?
