Premiers on Netflix on June 10.
Interesting, but I have mix feelings on its design. That been said, it could grow on me.

The design is little Transformerish (not Bayformers) mixed with GaoGaiGar's assembly sequence. It's ok, but if I had any say so in this project, I would've had the combined form keep the lions legs showing (like the toy) - if only to make any upcoming figures more show accurate. Now, the thing that will sell me on this is the storyline. If they make it as silly as all the past versions, including the original unaltered Golion, I will most likely do like I did with the last one they made a couple of years ago... not watch it! I'm hoping it is more in the lines of GaoGaiGar Final, Getter Robot Armaggedon, Giant Robo (1990's version), and even Mazinkaizer SKL (not likely but, hey!). Hell, even if they made it in the same tone as Dairruger XV, I would be cool with it. }D

I have mixed feelings about the design as well... and to Maz's point it'll come down to the story. I'm not completely sold on the new rounded edges to this Golion. The shoulder guard is an interesting concept but in some ways this new design reminds of Gurren Lagann a bit with the V shaped upper torso, more narrow mid section, and shoulder guards that are shield like. In some angles I can see Gurren's design influences here.
With that said, here's hoping this will release the old golion's design mold out to Bandai finally and we can hopefully get the long awaited SOC Go Lion treatment we have all been waiting for.
(one can hope I suppose...)

Been watching the new Voltron show this morning - 5 episodes so far. It is pretty good! To me, it is way better storywise that the original Voltron and Golion shows. It is not a "monster of the week" deal, so Voltron hasn't shown up in every episode, at least yet. Voltron looks very cool! Modernised version, but good anyway. Can't wait for the action figures to start popping up! }D

Hmm, moments like this I wish I had Netflix. But still, one show does not justify the extra expense.
Hopefully, the series will released on DVD.

Just finished watching the entire first season. Not bad! Voltron only fought 2 monsters total. The first episode is over an hour long, and the other 10 episodes are 24 minutes each. The last episode ended in a cliffhanger...
Overall, pretty cool, but just like Shin Mazinger, not nearly enough robot battles. Hopefully that will change in season 2?
I read in an Italian facebook post that Bandai is already working on a gokin Voltron from this series. Don't know how true that is, but this Voltron's design would work perfectly for a combiner SOC.
