Yeah, it would certainly make for interesting conversations, I've seen folks use the Hot Toys Tumbler Batmobile and add a tempered glass "box" around it, and turn it into a coffee table. 
Regarding the Photon Labs, a friend of mine actually wrote to Gokin Gear, and supposedly they replied that they're considering it (at this point, even if it's just SRC and not SOC scale, I'd be happy).

Awesome! I would immediately pre-order a Photon Lab, no matter what! And either scale would be great, but I tend to lean more towards SRC sized due to space.  }D |

I have my mixed emotions about the wood. But at least that rules out risk of oxidizing yellowing plastic. Unless white paint apps can yellow. Can they?

Unfortunately, yes. White paint can yellow due to exposure to UV radiation. Fortunately, there are finishing coats that prevent, or at least, slow down this process.  }D |

Listen guys use UV free lighting to avoid yellowing your lights I just use light bulbs uv free in my collection room.

Gokin Gear just put up more pics on their FB page. Still no word on price and release date.      Kinda wish the panels were blue instead of yellow. I wonder if customized stickers can fix this? This made me go "whut?"  Apparently they are considering doing the Voltes Pilots in 1/6 (12") Scale. So maybe that Megumi figure is a rough start. Also, in case folks missed it, Gokin Gear announced that their next project will likely be the Castle of Lions from Voltron. Not sure how that will sell as there's not much to interact with for the Lions IMHO. Maybe they might get some ideas from this unreleased (?) Jakks Pacific Castle? A friend sent me this image. I didn't even know Jakks was considering doing a Voltron line a while back.  Gold |

Gold Actually Trendmasters was working on it until the company was bought by Jakks Pacific, the Voltron license went to Toynami, and this project was put on the shelf for good. Seeing how WEP is so painfully protective of their Voltron license, I wish Gokin Gear the best of luck on their next project. |

Gokin Gear just updated their FB page, citing high cost/high price point, they've decided to split the CBF into 2 sets. The Hangar and the island. So folks who want just the hangar will have to option to get it cheaper.   I'm still hoping the whole thing clocks in below 300 USD. Gold |

Slightly OT but Playmates just got the toy license for the Netflix cartoon Voltron series coming this year. So maybe we might see a Castle of Lions playset? They do fine work with the TMNT playsets. Gold |
