So people are saying Bandai modeled Voltron off the old Godaiken /Popy toy for the NEW SOC,well I'm reading this right from the Tamashii Site in the toy description and photos page for Voltron....

The coloring and detail of SOUL OF CHOGOKIN VOLTRON are inspired by the look and detailing of the original animated series, but for fans of the original CHOGOKIN toy, optional number decals (1 - 5 ) are included.

So what excuse have they now??? They aren't even claiming the Godaiken/Popy !!! So indeed it was their best try at anime accuracy??? Pfffft...

CFF: At $36.99, the price was not bad. But with only 4 copies available which were roughly handled, and poor paint apps on the face and other small areas, I was a bit turned off and did not buy it. I might buy a copy later on as new stock becomes available... Dec 26, 2016 22:44:00 GMT
