24MAY2023: So, other than for the Jet Scrander New Version, the Hachette Mazinger Z project is done. Time to nitpick. I really don't like the way Hachette designed the elbows. They lack movement, have to be switched if you either want posability or better looking arms, and are held in position by friction instead of proper rachet joints. I already started to work on a new elbow design to replace the original Hachette versions. Let's see how it goes...  }D |

12JUN2023: Still recovering from food poisoning from Wendy's Ghost Pepper Fries. Stay away from those things! I lost over ten pounds in less than 24 hours! NOT GOOD!!! Anyway, I have completed everything from the Hachette Mazinger Z Premium subscription, with the exception of the New Jet Scrander. I still think it was bullshit from Hachette to send it 100% unassembled, unlike they did with all the other BONUS items. But hey, at least they did send it. So, let's do a brief mention about the "handshake Mazinger Z hand" which parts compose the first two volumes of the Hachette Great Mazinger project. I really don't know what to say, other than... WHY DIDN'T HACHETTE MAKE THE HANDS ARTICULATED FROM THE BEGINNING?!!! Damnit! If the Bandai DX, the famous KO Mazinger, and even smaller action figures can do articulated fingers, why couldn't HACHETTE do the same on a figure that is three times their size... and ten times more expensive? Hello!!! It's much easier to do so if the figure is bigger! But I digress... The open hand... it is what it is. Here are a couple of pictures:   And, I'm just gonna leave it at that. }D |

13JUN2023: For the final act of assholism, Hachette not only did NOT provide a fully assembled or mostly assembled Premium Subscription Bonus New Jet Scrander, they split it into three times as many parts as the regular Jet Scrander! Hachette... I hate you.  }D |

24JUN2023: I think my custom elbows for the Hachette Mazinger Z are quite done. Still need to address a couple of issues, but for the most part, I'm happy with what I've done so far. It was a challenge to make a 3D printed elbow joint that could withstand the weight of a very large metal forearm and hand, but I think I managed to come up with a good compromise of 3D printed parts made of ABS and TPU, and a few screws, nuts, washers, and metal pins to make it work and still look very presentable. Here are a few pictures of the custom elbows I made for the Hachette Mazinger Z:    While not 100% done yet, they do look very cool and match the color of the flexible knee covers.  }D |

29JUNE2023: Finally got this out of my system. It was driving me up the wall! Why did Hachette not go this route to begin with is beyond my understanding. Anyway, here is my Hachette Mazinger Z with integrated audio effects. I used the electronics that go in the base/hangar and fitted them inside the figure. Definitely a huge improvement over Hachette's Team design.

30JUN2023: Assembled the New Jet Scrander this morning. It looks great and works perfectly, but I despice the fact that Hachette used decals for the wings' trim. For the price, they should've been painted on! Anyway, the Hachette Mazinger Z project is complete now. The only thing I'm continuing to work on is the custom elbows, Everything else is finished.   }D |
