Recently, I started experimenting with modeling figurines, and of course, the first characters I went for were from the original 1972 Mazinger Z anime. So far, I've done five characters: Koji Kabuto, Professor Yumi V1 (not 100% mine) and V2, Professor Juzo Kabuto, and the most recent, Dr. Hell V1 and V2. The white versions were printed at a 0.1mm layer resolution, and the grey ones were printed at 0.05mm layer resolution. I could go down to a 0.025mm layer resolution, but it would quadruple the print time of the draft versions (0.1mm layer resolution) which is already approximately 5 hours on its own. Besides, these figures need to be primed before painting, as the resin doesn't like paint much. Anyway, I think Baron Ashura will be next... maybe.
Oh, yeah... sorry for the blurry pics, but the white resin figurines are a pain to photograph with my cellphone.

Thanks bro! I finished painting Dr. Hell a couple of hours ago. Still waiting for the paint to fully dry.

Someone wanted to purchase a 17cm tall figurine of Dr. Hell, but they also wanted it to have the Staff of Rhodes. Here is the prototype printed in Marble PLA next to the SOC GX-70 Mazinger Z for comparison: and next to the original 85mm sized figurine: }D

Testing Cura 5 beta with the Juzo Kabuto figurine. Orange one printed with ABS on Ultimaker 3 with 0.4mm nozzle, red one printed with ABS on Ultimaker 3 Extended with 0.25mm nozzle, and silver one printed with PLA on FLSun SUper Racer Delta printer with 0.4mm nozzle. The red one looks the best, but it took twice the amount of time to print (about 4.5 hours). The silver one looks really good as well, but I need to adjust the seams so they don't ruin the neck tie. The orange one also needs a few adjustments on the slicer to fix the seam placement. But overall, they look really good - and it is a lot cheaper to print with filament than to print with resin. }D

I scanned the three Photon Laboratory professors from the Italian Go Nagai Super Robot Collection line, and they turned out quite well. Here are the three original figurines: And here are the three 3D printed figurines (scaled to match the Mazinger Z Hachette display): More updates after I post process and paint them... By the way, they are available here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6652197}D
