Brothers, I will not leave you empty handed! But remember, a lot of times these 3D models are a pain to translate into a perfect articulated action figure. So please, bear with Gravewolf and I. Statues are easier, but... who wants that?!!! }D

Dude, if I waited this long for Gekiganger, I can wait a while longer...

It baffles me that a modern combiner hasn't been made of Diapolon being he was so prevalent in vintage SR toys, why ET hasn't done a non combined version of him yet is crazy.CMs were alive they'd do him proper by now with all 3 robots. SOC needs to tackle him for real.

Depending on how big the figure turns out (SOC or SRC sized), I may end up using Revoltech or Revoltech-Like joints. However, they will most likely be hybrid joints, combining commercially available joints with 3D printed parts. Hard to explain, but it works great... in theory. }D

I'm still remodeling some of the parts since I dismantled it. Those polycaps might suffice but I'm not a big fan of them since they tend to easily get lose or crack which was one of the reasons I got turned off on collecting master grade kits. They also don't stand up too well to play.

I agree with Gravewolf. I've used those before and they are pretty fragile. You have no idea how many I've broken the peg off by just trying to turn them. }D

I see. Thanks guys for letting me know about those joint systems. gravewolfBack when you were working on the silver Dai Apolon, you came up with what I though was an ingenious ball-joint system. Was it any successful?

Was it any successful? Both a success and failure lol, the metal to metal contact made it loose. I'm still thinking of using it but I think inserting a rubber part on top of the ball joint might help with the friction.

Gravewolf and I have been pondering about the joints on the SOC/SRC sized figures. One of the latest ideas is the following the footsteps of Evolution Toy, and making the joints magnetic. If strong enough magnets are used, these joints do work great. They last forever, do not break, and offer more possibilities than standard mechanical joints (in case the three Dai Apolon component robots ever get made - like the ET ALBEGAS). I'm currently looking for the steel bearings and the magnets to do a test run once I print the prototype. Will keep you folks posted on the progress. }D

Maybe we should make a separate thread on this lol.

Damn! Trouble with the head when sliced... The top of the head is not slicing properly for some reason. I'll have to work on that before any printing can be done. }D

Whoah that's some weird thing going on with the slicer. Have you tried running a program that corrects the model before slicing?
